Day - 1 : Guwahati
On arrival at Guwahati Airport, meet and greet our representative and transfer to city. Check in to your hotel. After freshen up visit – Uamananda Temple – A Shiva Temple located at the Peacock Island in the middle of River Brahmaputra and also known small river Island on Earth. There after check in to your hotel. After freshen up enjoy Sunset(4 pm)/Sundown (5 pm)River Cruise on mighty Brahmaputra. Night, stay in Guwahati.
Day - 2 : Guwahati – Kaziranga (250 km/3 hours)
Early morning visit KAMAKHYA TEMPLE.- situated in Nilachal Hills ( It is suggested that a special entry pass for the temple is obtained prior to the visit to avoid waiting time for direct payment basis). After having breakfast Kaziranga National Park – host for two third of world’s population of endangered Indian one horned Rhinoceros and also declared as a tiger reserve in 2006. On reaching Kaziranga visit Orchid Park – house of 600+ varieties of wild Orchids from different location of North East India. Night stay in Kaziranga.
Day - 3 : Kaziranga - Tezpur
Here early morning you get ready to Elephant Safari (1st called 5:30 am and 2nd called 6:00 am). After breakfast enjoy Jeep Safari for almost 3 hours. There after drive to Tezpur–cleanest city of Assam. On reaching Tezpur check in to your hotel. After brief freshen up visit Agnigrah–a historical &hindu mythological place. There is a also legendary story behind such an exceptional name. Usha, the daughter of King Banasura once saw a very handsome man in her dreams and fell in love with himand he was Shre Krishna Grandson Aniruddha. Usha told her friend Chitralekha about her dreams and describe his face. She was a master of painter and she remarkably successful with the drawing and help Usha to identify him and married him using her magical power. However King Bana not happy with this relationship and through Anirudha into a prison and built the fort at Agnigrah , to keep Usha from meeting him. On knowing this Lord Krishna came to the rescue of Aniruddha. Not much time later, a very fierce battle ensued between the Lord and the Asura King Bana. Evening free for leisure. Night, stay Night.
Day - 4 : Tezpur – Mon
Early morning after having breakfast transfer to Mon and drive through the beautiful countryside of Assam which will take around 6 hours. On the way, stop for an early lunch at Sonari Town. Wander around the small town and continue to drive to Mon. Upon reaching Mon check in to the hotel. After freshen up explore Mon. overnight stay in Mon.
Day - 5 : Explore Mon
After freshen up exploring Mon – located at an altitude of 897.64 meters above sea level is the land of Konyak Nagas. They were one of the greatest warriors among Nagas and practiced headhunting during the historic times. To kickstart your trip for the day, and get an insight into the history, drive to Longwa village which is on the border of India and Burma. Wander around the village and visit Morung where where you can visit a Naga boy’s dormitory that served as an acculturation and learning place during the headhunting times. This will truly a surreal part of your offbeat itinerary to Nagaland. Proceed to a gun – making place where the Konyak Nagas traditionally manufactured guns and also pay a visit to the craftsmen’s house to see the beautiful wood carvings and appreciate the artistic skills of the Nagas. After having lunch drive to Mon. There after visit HangPhoi village to meet the Headhunters with tattooed faces. You will get a more realistic insight into the Naga culture. After this offbeat experience in Nagaland. Overnight stay in Mon.
Day - 6 : Mon – Tuensang
Early after having breakfast transfer to Tuensang which is about 6 hours away, bordering Myanmar. It is the state’s easternmost district and the largest. The district is home to tribal groups like Chang, Sangtam, Khiamniungan, Yimchunger, Phom Naga and others. Each tribe has a different culture, different traditions and different festivals and witnessing them will be a winner in your offbeat Nagaland itinerary. Day - 7 : Explore Tuensang
After breakfast exploring Tuesang’s various village. You may find several Mithun in this area ( a semi domesticated animal) that is a cross between water buffalo and a cow. Exploring villages such as Noklak which is inhabited by the Khiamniungan tribe. The village is popular for its cane work, handicrafts and artefacts. Another village, Longtrok finds the ancient ruins of the civilizations of Tsongliyangti and Chungliyangti, which is marked by six legendary stones. Admire the history of this place before heading back to your hotel. Overnight stay in Tuensang.
Day - 8 : Tuensang - Touphema
After having breakfast transfer Touphema Tourist Village – which is a long drive (8 – 9 hrs drive) away. On the way, stop to see the culture of the Lotha Tribe at Longsa Village in Wokha district. Lothas are known for their vibrant dance and folk songs. Unlike other Nagas, in the olden days, the Lothas practiced headhunting. There after check in to your hotel in Touphema. Overnight, stay in Touphema.
Day - 9 : Explore Touphema
After having breakfast explore Touphema – offers exquisite traditional Naga life in nature’s lap. This village is set up to preserve and showcase the traditional Naga lifestyle. There is another village called Khonoma which is populated by the Angami tribe. After you finish exploring these villages, you can head back to your hotel. Overnight, stay in Touphema.
Day - 10 : Khonoma - Kohima
Trek to Dzukou Valley in the morning and witness Flowers Valley. The valley stands above Sea level at an altitude of 2500 metres. The entire valley is full of flowers during the months of March and April. After witnessing the breathtaking beauty, trek back to Khonoma in the afternoon, catch a quick refreshment and drive to Kohima. Overnight, stay Kohima.
Day - 11 : Kohima – Dimapur
After having breakfast transfer to Dimapur – some mysterious ruins of the Kachari civilization from the 13th century. These ruins which are scattered around Rajbari Park , are perhaps the most interesting attraction in Dimapur. There is also a market near the ruins on Wednesday that offers an informative insight into the life of Nagas. There after drop off Dimapur Airport to board of the flight for your onward destination.
